Every company wants to be profitable, but Walker Hansen finds it more fulfilling to work in a field that offers opportunities to make a positive difference in people’s lives, whether it’s by helping them grow into a home they love or building their wealth in the sale of a property.
Walker entered the real estate business armed for all its challenges. After he earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Colorado Boulder, he was a project engineer for a commercial construction company. That background gave him the capability to understand the building process and the finances that make it possible, enabling him to provide informed assistance to clients.
Planning, coordinating, and managing construction projects gave him a big-picture overview of everything that goes into every structure, literally from the ground up. But what Walker values most about the real estate industry is connecting with people and creating trust with his clients by listening to their goals and showing how hard he is willing to work to help achieve them. The ideal result is for satisfied clients to be able to get on with the business of enjoying their lives.
Though he has lived in Colorado and San Francisco, Walker is happy to be back in Santa Cruz, California, where he was born and raised, and where he can be found most days riding his bike along West Cliff. In addition to cycling, he enjoys surfing, reading, and cooking, especially while sharing laughs with friends.
